Teacher Training Programs You Can Apply For

  2. Special Diploma in Primary Education – Science & Mathematics (3 years)

Entry Requirements: Are You Eligible?

Before applying, make sure you meet the qualifications:

1.For the 2-Year Diploma in Early Childhood & Primary Education

This course is ideal for those who want to teach pre-primary and primary school students, including learners with Functional needs.

You must:

  • Be a Form Six graduate with Division I, II, or III and have at least two principal passes.
  • OR be a certified teacher with a certificate (Astashahada) in Early Childhood or Primary Education.
  • Applicants with backgrounds in Economics, Commerce, or Bookkeeping should apply for Early Childhood Education.

2.For the 3-Year Special Diploma in Science and Mathematics

This is a specialized course tailored to those interested in teaching STEM subjects at the primary level. You must:

  • Be a Form Four graduate with Division I, II, or III.
  • Have a minimum of three “C” passes in the following subjects:
    • Basic Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Information and Computer Studies
    • Computer Science

This diploma prepares teachers to confidently deliver science and math education, essential for nurturing Tanzania’s future engineers, doctors, and innovators.

For those applying to private colleges, you must apply directly to the institution of your choice. Each college will handle selection and response individually.
