Available Teaching Programmes
The training programmes fall under two main categories:
1. Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Education (2 Years)
- Targeted at Form Six graduates with Division I-III.
- Open to qualified teachers holding a Certificate in Early Childhood or Primary Education.
- Includes specialization in Functional Needs Education.
2. Special Diploma in Primary Education (Science & Mathematics) – 3 Years
- For Form Four graduates with Division I-III and minimum “C” grades in three subjects, two of which must be:
- Basic Mathematics
- Biology
- Chemistry

- Information & Computer Studies

Application Procedure
Here’s how to apply for the 2025/2026 teacher training intake:
- Eligibility: Open to qualified Form IV, Form VI graduates and certified teachers in Early Childhood/Primary Education.
- Government Colleges:
- Apply online via MoEST’s Central Admission System: https://tcm.moe.go.tz/
- Applicants must select 3 preferred courses/specializations in order of priority.
- Private Colleges:
- Apply directly to the respective college.
- Admission Results:
- Government college applicants will get their results via the online portal starting 18th August 2025.
- Private college applicants will receive their results from the college they applied to.
- Joining Instructions:
- Will be available on the MoEST website: www.moe.go.tz
- Also accessible through the selected college using your registered email or address.
