The Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania has officially announced 28 new job opportunities across various professional cadres. These positions aim to strengthen operational efficiency within the Parliamentary Secretariat — a key institution established under Article 88(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1977. 1. Librarian II – (2 Positions)

Duties:

  • Organize and index Parliamentary publications.
  • Verify and maintain library materials.
  • Provide electronic and internet research support to MPs and staff.
  • Train users on library systems and information retrieval.
  • Maintain user records and assist with document access.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

2. Water Systems Technician II (Plumber) – (2 Positions)

Duties:

  • Inspect and maintain water systems within Parliamentary buildings.
  • Recommend improvements and repair materials.
  • Oversee drainage and wastewater systems.

Qualifications:
FTC or Diploma in Water Systems Engineering or equivalent from a recognized technical institution.
Salary Scale: PSS C/1

3. Statistician II – (2 Positions)

Duties:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly statistical reports.
  • Analyze financial, economic, and budget data.
  • Develop risk management and performance statistics.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field with ICT proficiency.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

4. Procurement Officer II – (1 Position)

Duties:

  • Prepare procurement schedules and manage inventories.
  • Supervise goods receipt, storage, and distribution.
  • Maintain accurate stock and supply records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Procurement/Supplies or PSPTB Level III certification. Must be registered with PSPTB as a Graduate Professional.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Provide legal guidance during Parliamentary sessions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law and completion of recognized legal practice training.

6. Information Officer II – (3 Positions)

Duties:

  • Collect, write, and edit news stories.
  • Capture photos and videos for official use.
  • Prepare newsletters, posters, and exhibition materials.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication with computer proficiency.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

7. ICT Officer II (System Administrator) – (1 Position)

Duties:

  • Analyze user requirements and develop IT systems.
  • Test and implement software and hardware solutions.
  • Maintain and secure ICT systems.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, ICT, or related field.
Salary Scale: PSS E/1

8. Research Officer II – (3 Positions)

Duties:

  • Assist in Parliamentary research projects.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations under supervision.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or equivalent.

9. Receptionist II – (4 Positions)

Duties:

Qualifications:
Certificate or Diploma in Reception, Customer Care, or Hospitality with computer skills.

  • Test and secure network systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.

11. Hansard Reporter II (Linguistics) – (1 Position)

Duties:

  • Transcribe Parliamentary and Committee sessions.
  • Proofread and edit official debates.
  • Maintain recorded session archives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics or equivalent.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

12. Hansard Reporter II (Secretarial Studies) – (2 Positions)

Duties:

  • Transcribe and proof Parliamentary proceedings.
  • Edit and format official records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or Secretarial Studies.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1

13. Accountant II – (2 Positions)

Duties:

  • Prepare financial statements and reconcile accounts.
  • Process payments and verify financial records.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, with CPA (T) certification or NBAA-recognized equivalent.
Salary Scale: PSS E/1

14. Finance Management Officer II – (1 Position)

Duties:

  • Manage Government securities and debt records.
  • Track revenue and expenditure reports.
  • Liaise with donors and creditors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Tax Management.
Salary Scale: PSS D/1
