Role Overview
The Internal Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring that Precision Air operates within an effective framework of internal controls, governance, and risk management. You will be expected to conduct both operational and IT audits using a structured, risk-based approach. Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans for IT systems and operational processes.
- Create detailed audit programs based on business risks, strategic goals, and technological trends.
- Conduct audits to assess the accuracy, security, and efficiency of operations, while ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
Information Systems Auditing
- Assess IT general controls, application security, cybersecurity, and data governance.
- Evaluate IT governance frameworks like COBIT and ISO 27001.
- Review system implementations and data migrations to ensure proper risk control.
- Use Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) and data analytics to improve audit insights.
- Evaluate disaster recovery plans and business continuity procedures.
Operational Auditing
- Audit airline operations including flight services, maintenance, procurement, and customer service.
- Identify inefficiencies, compliance issues, and fraud risks.
- Provide root-cause analysis and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Deliver clear, impactful audit reports highlighting risks and recommendations.
- Ensure timely follow-ups on audit recommendations.
- Act as a trusted advisor by proactively communicating operational and IT risks to senior management.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with changes in technology, regulation, and the airline industry.
- Advocate for data-driven auditing and modern tools to improve audit relevance.
- Contribute to the audit department’s Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk register.
- Promote ongoing learning and innovation in line with GIAS 2024 internal audit standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications required: CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in auditing with a focus on internal control, IT systems, and risk-based auditing.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, data analytics tools, and risk management frameworks.
