Internship Overview

This internship position supports the Nutrition, HIV, and School-Based Programmes Team at WFP Tanzania. Interns will contribute to project coordination, communication, knowledge management, and reporting—helping drive meaningful progress aligned with Tanzania’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2022–2027).

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Duration: 8 months
Type: Full-time Internship

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will:

  • Support day-to-day project coordination for nutrition and school-based programmes
  • Assist in producing communication and advocacy materials (infographics, videos, briefs)
  • Help draft project proposals, concept notes, and donor reports
  • Maintain project timelines, track deliverables, and document best practices
  • Update and manage the team’s knowledge repository
  • Provide logistical and admin support for events, workshops, and field missions
  • Collaborate across units to ensure smooth programme implementation

What You’ll Deliver

By the end of the internship, you will have:

  • Delivered quality support to the Nutrition and School Feeding Team
  • Created impactful communication and knowledge materials
  • Contributed to well-documented reports and project outputs
  • Enhanced knowledge management systems within the Programme Unit

Eligibility & Requirements

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme OR
  • Recent graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s) within the last 6 months
    Preferred Fields: Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public/Business Administration, or related fields

Experience

  • 6 months to 2 years of relevant work in project coordination or related roles
  • Familiarity with NGOs, UN systems, or government partnerships is a plus
  • Skilled in communication materials and report writing

Skills

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented with solid time management
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural setting
  • Fluent in English and Swahili
