Job Overview

The Project Management Officer will be responsible for governance, planning, reporting, and coordination to support high-quality delivery across AzamPesa projects. You will work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance & Controls: Maintain PMO registers (RAID, decisions, changes), enforce documentation standards, and support audits.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Build integrated project plans, monitor dependencies, and drive recovery actions.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver weekly reports, dashboards, and Steering Committee packs with accurate data.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks, assess impacts, create contingency plans, and escalate when necessary.
  • Financial Tracking: Monitor budgets, forecasts, invoices, and benefits realization.
  • Resource & Vendor Coordination: Manage allocations, onboarding, deliverables, and vendor relationships.
  • Delivery Support: Coordinate UAT, defect triage, release readiness, and documentation reviews.
  • Meetings & Communications: Organize forums, prepare agendas, minutes, and follow up on actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process and tool enhancements to boost predictability and transparency.

Skills & Tools Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in project management within fintech, telecom, payments, or banking.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and working familiarity with Jira.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized with a structured approach to delivery.
