Role Overview: Relationship Manager, Business Banking
The Relationship Manager (RM-BB) will be instrumental in managing and growing the bank’s SME portfolio. This role requires a proactive professional who can foster strong client relationships while meeting and exceeding business targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive growth in SME deposits and loans, both in volume and value.
- Recruit new SME clients and cross-sell ACB products while nurturing existing client relationships.
- Develop marketing and deposit mobilization strategies aligned with branch and bank objectives.
- Promote ACB products and identify new business opportunities in the market.
- Formulate strategic plans to achieve lending and deposit targets.
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, monitoring credit risk and ensuring acceptable PAR and NPL levels.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive relationship management.
- Implement account strategies to secure sole banking relationships.
- Track market trends and recommend improvements to customer service and product offerings.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards to increase market share and grow the customer base.
- Ensure strict compliance with governance processes, internal policies, and external regulations.
- Follow up on non-performing accounts and implement timely remediation plans.
- Maintain consistently acceptable audit outcomes for SME banking.
Candidate Requirements:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Banking, or Business Administration (required).
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Banking and Finance (advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant banking experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven expertise in sales, business development, and SME banking products.
- Strong knowledge of credit underwriting and local market dynamics.
- Familiarity with banking policies, compliance frameworks, and relationship management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, marketing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Leadership and people management proficiency.
