Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor HSE systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are in place.
- Support compliance and internal/external auditing processes.
- Monitor health indicators and safety behavior.
- Manage waste and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Maintain effective HSE communication and reporting mechanisms.
- Oversee facility maintenance and enforce good housekeeping standards.
- Monitor hygiene conditions in public areas and fire safety system maintenance.
- Assist in HSE Committee meetings.
- Support site inspections by OSHA, Fire, and NEMC teams and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the superior.
Desirable Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- In-depth understanding of OSHA, Fire Safety, and NEMC legal requirements under Tanzanian law.
- Knowledge of general safety, fire safety, environmental management, risk assessment, health, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to drive the implementation of approved HSE policies and management systems.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences.
- Additional certifications such as Fire Manager are an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an HSE Officer in the Cement, Construction, or Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
