The European Union Delegation to Tanzania is looking for a Secretary (Local Agent Group 3) to join its Political, Press, and Information Section. Secretary at the EU Delegation to Tanzania September 2025, This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated professional to contribute to the EU’s diplomatic mission in Tanzania and the East African Community (EAC). The ideal candidate will provide essential secretarial and administrative support, helping to maintain strong working relationships with EU Member States, development partners, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves a variety of crucial tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the section. Your responsibilities will include:
- General Secretarial Duties: Manage diaries, screen phone calls, organize meetings and missions, handle travel arrangements, and manage correspondence and filing.
- Administrative Support: Assist with project management and support the preparation of daily press reports.
- Event and Communication Support: Help prepare and deliver communication and visibility events, manage promotional materials, and support social media platforms.
- Document Management: Handle the filing, storage, maintenance, and destruction of both hard and soft copy documents.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain positive working relationships with representatives from EU Member States, development partners, and project stakeholders.
Requirements and Compensation
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or an equivalent qualification.
- At least three years of professional experience in a related field.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation:
- Salary: Starting from TZS 3,271,902, depending on relevant professional experience.
- Benefits: Competitive benefits package, including personal leave, public holidays, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
- Contract: This is a two-year fixed-term contract with a nine-month probationary period, with the possibility of renewal.
