About the Role: Senior IT Assistant
As the Senior IT Assistant, you will provide top-tier IT support and technology solutions to staff and visiting missions in the Dar es Salaam office. You’ll ensure the seamless operation of information technologies while contributing to regional IT programs across Africa.
This role reports directly to the Regional IT Team Coach for Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver proactive technical support and customer service to local and visiting staff.
- Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues, including escalated and non-routine problems.
- Maintain and configure hardware/software systems, monitor IT infrastructure, and provide troubleshooting.
- Support network infrastructure, conferencing systems, remote access technologies, and cybersecurity standards.
- Provide in-house IT training, promote technology adoption, and support digital tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring SLAs are met and technologies are optimized.
- Track trends, document issues, and escalate critical concerns as needed.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- No prior experience required, though experience will be an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications:
- ITIL Foundation
- Scrum
- Azure DevOps
- Power BI / Power Apps / Power Automate
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies: Windows, M365, Active Directory, DNS.
- Skilled in Azure DevOps (boards, analytics, dashboards).
- Proficiency in Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate workflows.
- Familiar with ITIL service management best practices.
- Agile/Scrum framework experience, including backlog management and sprint planning.
- Competent in network communication technologies (WAN/LAN), VPNs, remote access tools.
- Experience supporting video conferencing and collaborative platforms.
- Ability to train and coach users on ITS tools and features.
