Position: Finance Intern – Treasury
Location: Dar es Salaam

Key Responsibilities
As the Finance Intern – Treasury, you will support financial operations with a focus on treasury management, compliance, and partner coordination. Your core responsibilities include:
Finance Administration
- Review and process supplier invoices in line with internal policies.
- Verify invoice accuracy, completeness, and ensure proper coding and approvals.
- Handle mobile payments, ensuring all disbursements meet compliance standards.
- Resolve discrepancies promptly by liaising with originators and approvers.
Tax Filing and Compliance
- Prepare and submit withholding tax, PAYE, and other statutory returns to TRA.
- Maintain an accurate tax database and ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to.
Partner Financial Reports
- Review partner financial submissions for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Confirm alignment with contractual budgets and funding guidelines.
- Ensure all supporting documentation (receipts, invoices) is valid and attached.
Staff Expense Verification
- Audit staff expense reports for legitimacy and policy compliance.
- Reconcile staff advances against submitted documentation.
- Flag any irregularities and resolve them in a timely manner.
Documentation & Records
- Organize and maintain financial records and archives in accordance with SNV’s documentation protocols.
- Ensure easy accessibility and high-quality archiving standards.
Communication & Information Sharing
- Serve as the first point of contact for finance-related queries.
- Redirect complex inquiries to senior finance staff where necessary.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of finance experience, preferably in an NGO or INGO setting.
Key Competencies
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication in both English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- High computer literacy (especially MS Excel and accounting systems).
- Multitasking, fast learner, and detail-oriented mindset.
- Collaborative and adaptable in multicultural settings.
