About TANROADS

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for the maintenance and development of trunk and regional roads across Tanzania Mainland. The agency also oversees operations related to road safety, overload control, and infrastructure development.

The Regional Manager, TANROADS Coast Region, on behalf of the Chief Executive, invites applications from qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:

List of Available Positions

1. Weighbridge Officer – 4 Positions

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Education, Psychology, or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control vehicle weights (GVW > 3,500kg).
- Impose fines for overloaded vehicles.
- Enforce compliance with abnormal load permits.
- Evaluate safety and reliability of weighbridge systems.
- Solve operational issues on the roads.
Salary Scale: TRDS 5

2. Technician II – Weighbridge Operations – 7 Positions

Qualifications Required:
- Diploma or FTC in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain weighbridge scale devices.
- Measure vehicle dimensions and check for compliance.
- Impose road damage penalties on the spot.
Salary Scale: TRDS 4.1

3. Accounts Assistant I – 2 Positions

Qualifications Required:
- Diploma in Accountancy or ATEC II (recognized by NBAA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue cheques and collect income.
- Handle payment processes and reconcile bank records.
- Maintain asset registers and manage salary transactions.
Salary Scale: TRDS 4.1

4. Driver II – 2 Positions

Qualifications Required:
- Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Basic Driving Course from VETA.
- Valid driving license (Class C or E), with at least one year of clean driving experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive TANROADS vehicles safely.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
- Transport official documents and goods.
Salary Scale: TRDS 2.1

General Requirements for All Applicants

Must be Tanzanian citizens aged not above 45 years.
