About TANROADS

TANROADS is a government agency responsible for the maintenance and development of trunk and regional roads across mainland Tanzania. It also oversees axle load control operations to ensure road safety and durability. To support its mission, TANROADS Dar es Salaam is recruiting skilled professionals for road project supervision under a specified two-year contract.

Available Positions & Qualifications

1. Resident Engineer – 1 Post

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Highway, or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the site team and oversee technical/admin tasks
- Supervise contractors and force account operations
- Prepare work plans, manage contracts, control quality, and handle reporting
- Ensure timely invoice processing and monitor environmental compliance

2. Highway Engineer – 1 Post

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Highway, or Transportation Engineering
- At least 7 years of experience
- ERB-registered as a Professional Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure work aligns with contract specifications
- Review and advise on design shortfalls
- Inspect works, prepare progress reports, and measure quantities

3. Material Engineer – 1 Post

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Highway, Transportation, or Structural Engineering
- 7+ years of experience
- Registered by ERB as a Professional Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise labs and conduct material tests
- Enforce quality assurance/quality control procedures
- Approve and track all materials used on site
- Provide expert advice on material applications

4. Structures Engineer – 1 Post

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural, Civil, or Transportation Engineering
- At least 7 years of relevant experience
- ERB registration required
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and approve structural works
- Maintain detailed project documentation
- Provide daily progress reports on drainage and related works

5. Topographical Surveyor – 1 Post

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying or Geomatics
- Minimum 5 years of field experience
- Must be registered with the National Council of Professional Surveyors (NCPS)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct land and boundary surveys
- Create and maintain accurate maps and reports
- Coordinate survey data with engineers and stakeholders
- Use geodetic tools for accurate positioning and measurements

Terms of Employment

Contract Duration: 2 years (specific project-based)
Location: Dar es Salaam Region
Salary & Benefits: Based on TANROADS salary scale + site allowances per TANROADS Incentive Policy
