About the Role
As an Accountant at Turkish Airlines, you will be at the heart of our financial processes, ensuring that all cost and expense documents are recorded accurately. You will help maintain transparent accounting records in line with legislation, company regulations, approvals, and generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, you will liaise with certified public accountants and monitor compliance with local laws, making your role crucial in safeguarding the company’s financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Monitoring: Verify and monitor revenues from sales management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and accurately record them in accounting systems.
- Financial Reporting: Provide detailed financial information on office income, costs, and statistical data to the Sales Manager or supervisor as needed.
- Bank Transactions: Ensure timely deposits of sales proceeds (Office + BSP + Cargo + CASS + GSA) and maintain precise records.
- Payment Processing: Handle payments for approved expenditures, adhering strictly to approval procedures, and manage allowance disbursements efficiently.
- Budget Management: Maintain the annual cost budget, monitor expenditures, prevent budget overruns, and promptly report deviations to supervisors.
- Administrative Management: Manage administrative tasks and follow up on related issues to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum high school diploma.
- At least one year of experience in finance, accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting is preferred.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practical application.
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
- Strong command of English and local language(s).
- Valid work permit or citizenship is required (the company does not provide or sponsor work permits).
- Excellent analytical skills, responsibility, and ability to make effective decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solving and organizational skills.
