1. Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights
- Duty Station: OHCHR Headquarters, New York, USA

Requirements:
- Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in human rights, international relations, or related fields.
- Strong background in policy planning, political analysis, and programme management within multilateral institutions.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills in multicultural environments.
- Proven negotiation and diplomatic expertise.
- Deep commitment to UN values and thorough knowledge of the UN system, including human rights, humanitarian, peacekeeping, and development operations.
2. Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights
- Duty Station: OHCHR Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland
- Application Deadline: 19th September 2025
Requirements:
- At least 20 years of professional experience in human rights or related areas, with proven expertise in management, financial oversight, human resources, and resource mobilization in large multilateral organisations.
- Strong track record in programme management, planning, analysis, and budgeting.
- Excellent technical leadership and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural teams and maintain strong internal and external relations.
- Commitment to UN principles and values with solid knowledge of the UN system.
Other Terms and Conditions
- Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French or another official UN language is an added advantage.
- Clearance Requirement: Applicants must attach a criminal offence clearance certificate from relevant Tanzanian authorities.
