The UONGOZI Institute, based in Dar es Salaam, has announced three exciting internship opportunities for September 2025. These internships—offered in Finance, Research, and Procurement—are designed to help graduates sharpen their skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and prepare for impactful careers.

About UONGOZI Institute

Established in 2010 through a partnership between the Governments of Tanzania and Finland, UONGOZI Institute is dedicated to equipping African leaders with the knowledge and tools for sustainable development. The Institute provides training, research, and policy support to leaders across the continent, emphasizing effective governance and long-term growth.

Internship Opportunities

The Institute is offering three internship positions for a period of up to one year, with potential travel for specific assignments:

  • Finance Intern (1 position): Assist with finance and accounting tasks under the Corporate Services Department, reporting to the Senior Accountant.
  • Research Intern (1 position): Support research and policy activities, coordinate resources, and work in the Research and Policy Analysis Department under the Senior Researcher.
  • Procurement Intern (1 position): Help manage procurement plans, tendering, logistics, and inventory, reporting to the Senior Procurement and Supplies Officer.

Candidate Requirements

To qualify for these internships, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Be proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online research platforms.
  • Possess strong communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Volunteering experience is an added advantage.
