Job Overview
As the General Manager – Vessel Operations, you will oversee the overall management of the company’s vessel activities. This role demands strong leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of maritime regulations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance, improve operational efficiency, and lead a team dedicated to safe and reliable vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day vessel operations in compliance with maritime laws and safety standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize performance and profitability.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and cost control.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise crew members to maintain discipline and efficiency.
- Ensure proper maintenance schedules and operational readiness of vessels.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and business partners.
- Drive continuous improvements in safety, service quality, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 7 years’ proven experience in vessel management, shipping, or maritime operations.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime laws and safety compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
