About MKUTA
Mwitikio wa Kudhibiti Kifua Kikuu na UKIMWI Tanzania (MKUTA) was established in 2009 to provide community-based health services, including TB and HIV care. The organization prioritizes vulnerable populations such as drug users, refugees, and miners, partnering with government bodies, civil society, and international stakeholders to ensure sustainable solutions and inclusive health policies.

Program Overview
Supported by the Ministry of Health and the Global Fund Cycle 7 (GFC7) Grant, MKUTA participates in a community TB/HIV program running from October 2025 to December 2026. The program operates across 185 councils and emphasizes peer-led service delivery in collaboration with Local Government Authorities. Key goals include:

  • Reducing new HIV infections by 85% from the 2010 baseline by 2025
  • Reducing mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) to below 4% by the end of breastfeeding
  • Reducing AIDS-related deaths by 80%
  • Reducing HIV-related stigma to under 5%
  • Enhancing TB detection, treatment, and prevention to reduce incidence and mortality

Position: Zonal TB Officer (4 Posts)
MKUTA seeks highly qualified and motivated individuals to oversee the delivery of community TB services in designated zones.

Duty Stations: Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza
Reports to: Zonal Coordinator / MKUTA TB Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee implementation of TB interventions, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
  • Collaborate with regional and district TB coordinators to ensure smooth program delivery
  • Coordinate all planned activities in compliance with national and Global Fund guidelines
  • Prepare timely activity and progress reports (monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual)
  • Supervise and support Community Health Workers in service delivery
  • Introduce innovative approaches to improve TB program effectiveness

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, or Community Development
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public health, preferably in TB services
  • Experience with NGOs, government agencies, or international organizations is an advantage
  • Strong project management, data analysis, and monitoring skills
  • Deep understanding of TB treatment, prevention, and global initiatives (e.g., WHO, Stop TB Partnership)

  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills
  • Advocacy skills for TB-related policies and influence on decision-making
  • Collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams
